Bryan Johnson, CEO

Mr. Johnson is the Founder and CEO of Braintree Payment Solutions. Prior to Braintree, Bryan was the co-founder of two companies and spent three years with the Royal Bank of Scotland’s U.S. credit card processing division, RBSLynk. After several years in the industry, Mr. Johnson founded Braintree to specialize in providing solutions to card not present merchants.

Today, Braintree processes for some of the largest merchants and service providers in the U.S.. Mr. Johnson has a B.A. from Brigham Young University and a MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.

Chris Kaltenbach, EVP & General Counsel

In his role as Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Chris Kaltenbach has 14 years of experience as a business lawyer working on a broad range of legal and commercial issues. Chris was an attorney in private practice for 10 years, working in the corporate and securities practice group of a large law firm. His practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, joint venture and partnering arrangements, intellectual property, securities offerings and general corporate and transactional matters.

Chris then transitioned to industry, serving for 4 years as general counsel to the North American operations of a multinational group of companies. Chris’ responsibilities in this regard involved negotiating various licensing, financing and other contractual arrangements pertaining to all aspects of the business, together with maintaining and protecting intellectual property rights and counseling management on litigation, regulatory and employment matters. The breadth of Chris’ professional experience and unique combination of legal and management expertise is a tremendous asset to Braintree. Chris received his BBA from Loyola College (Maryland), his JD from Rutgers University School of Law, and his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.

James MacEachern, CFO & COO

James B. MacEachern serves as our Chief Operations Officer. James has over 15 years of experience in senior operations and finance roles at companies such as CDW Corporation, Newark Electronics and Harnischfeger Industries, including 10 years in Controller roles. He has a history of accomplishment in operations, initial public offerings, accounting and reporting, planning and analysis, contract administration, systems analysis, process improvement and internal controls design. James has a proven record of improving sales and profitability.

James graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1992 and 1994 with Sociology and Business Administration degrees. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago GSB in 2007. He is a certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois Society of CPAs and Financial Executives Institute.
